About the Artist

Joyce is an American landscape painter who grew up in Southern New Jersey. Based in Montgomery County, PA her work centers around the endless study of atmosphere, color harmony, and natural composition—a landscape where every bend in the road, every mountain overlook, and every forest path offers another painting waiting to be discovered. Inspiration is in each surrounding landscape. She states that art has been a lifelong ambition. Currently, her two favorite mediums are traditional oils and soft pastels.

Her artistic journey started when she was very young. As a child, she was inspired by her mother, a creative fabric artist. She and her mother would often paint en plein air. This, she feel's is where her artistic journey began. 

A self-taught artist who continually takes advantage of value workshops and classes, she has traveled to Europe, the Atlantic coast, and various locations on the East Coast as well as the Southwest to take advantage of classes from artists who continue to influence her.

Joyce exhibits in local and group shows. Her work has been exhibited in both commercial galleries, commissions, and private collections. She is affiliated with the Philadelphia Pastel Association, Philadelphia, PA, Professional Artist’s Association, Arts & Cultural Association, Bucks County, PA, Wayne Art Center, Wayne, PA, FASO, Epiphany Fine Art Center, Winslow Art Center, Bainbridge Island, WA, Pastel Painters Society of Cape Cod, Massachusetts’s, as well as the Woodmere Art Museum, Philadelphia, PA.
